Dr. Venn Peterson

Although Dr. Peterson went to the dentist growing up and had a few classmates whose parents were dentists, he didn’t consider this career path for himself until he took a class about medicine in high school. One day, a few doctors came in to talk about their jobs, and he was immediately drawn to what the dentists shared. He always had an interest in science and working with people, and dentistry offered the perfect combination of the two!

As for his studies, Dr. Peterson graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University in 1996. Next, he attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Year after year, he pursues continuing education to stay abreast of the latest techniques and technology. Plus, he actively participates in professional organizations like the American Dental Association and the Washington State Dental Association.

While the clinical aspects of dentistry have always fascinated Dr. Peterson, he loves building genuine relationships with his patients equally. Getting to know the person in his treatment chair, their families, their unique dental needs, and their smile goals is something he genuinely enjoys about his job, and he’s honored he has the opportunity to do that each and every day.

Dr. Peterson and his wife, Cathi, have four children, so life outside the office is quite busy! His hobbies include playing guitar, watching sports, volunteering, participating in his church, singing, and spending time outside.

Dr. Spenser Cammack

Since his mom was a nurse, Dr. Cammack’s interest in healthcare was piqued at a young age. He also spent quite a bit of time at his dentist’s office growing up. The combination of the two experiences piqued his interest in pursuing a career in dentistry, and he’s never looked back since!

Although he grew up in Phoenix, Dr. Cammack ultimately chose to pursue his studies at Brigham Young University. Then, he served on a church mission in Nicaragua, went back to Brigham Young University to earn his B.S. in exercise science, and earned his dental doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry! Throughout this time, he participated in several community outreach programs and volunteer clinics as well, which was extremely rewarding. Now, he keeps his skills sharp by maintaining active memberships with the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, the Olympia Study Club, and several others.

There’s no denying Dr. Cammack’s passion for dentistry. Of course, his favorite thing to do is spend time with his family. He and his wife, Nadia, have four children and love to travel. So far, they’ve visited everywhere from the Pacific Northwest and Arizona to England! He also enjoys remaining active by running, participating at his church, and coaching his children’s teams.

Is there a way to get emergency dental care?

Same-day emergency care is important. It’s one of the reasons why our team is pleased to work you or your family member in the moment you alert us to a serious situation. But the only way to accomplish this is by calling our office. You can expect to receive emergency dental care from our exceptional team by first alerting us of the situation. A team member will take down your information, offer helpful first-aid tips, and let you know when you can expect to arrive for your appointment.

Our team will then work quickly to identify the problem, develop a plan, and help you out of pain.

Where is the best place to get quality dental work done?

If you want to receive high-quality dental care, you’ll first need to decide what is most important. Choosing between a general dentist or specialist is essential. Also, knowing whether you want to see someone who is in-network with your insurance can help you save a lot of money. Seeking a professional who offers services to all members of the family is crucial if you want you and your loved ones to be all under one roof.

Building a list of criteria can help you to narrow your search as you consider different dental offices. Once you determine what is most important, you can expect to find a dentist that offers what it is you desire from an oral healthcare professional.

Without insurance, how much does it cost to have a tooth pulled?

Tooth extractions often range between $150-$400; however, this price can increase if you are considering wisdom tooth extractions. If you have dental insurance, it’s strongly recommended that you use it, as you can expect to save much more. However, in instances where insurance is not an option, Peterson & Cammack offer alternative payment solutions such as flexible financing. With CareCredit, you can pay off the full amount upfront with your CareCredit card. Then, based on the type of plan you choose (low or no interest), you will make monthly installments to pay off the cost of care over time.

How much does a dental checkup and cleaning near Olympia cost?

A typical dental checkup and teeth cleaning can cost between $200-$300. Including a full exam, digital X-rays, teeth cleaning, and additional time for questions and treatment planning, this visit is essential to ensuring the health of your teeth and gums throughout the year. However, you will find that most dental insurance plans offer 80-100% coverage for these preventive services. Why? Because they help to lower the potential need for restorative care, which requires insurance companies to pay more.
